The 5100mz is a very competitively priced, high precision, vibrating microtome (vibrotome for short) which shares many features with the top of the range 7000smz series, such as the vibrating mechanism, the inner and outer tissue baths and the easy to use control system.
The 5100-Plus is perfect for those who need to keep slices viable for longer e.g. for electrophysiological field recordings. The user can calibrate the Z-axis deflection of the blade to 2 µm with the adjustable blade holder and “Opti-cal” Calibration device.
Physiological temperature controlled baths for the 7000smz-2, vibrotomes with a controllable temperature range of approx. +50 to +10ºC with accuracy of ± 1 ºC. For experiments utilising the technique of Huang S & Uusisaari MY (2013) where exact control of physiological slicing temperature is required.
This unit is included with all new style tissue chambers. Order as needed for spares or replacements.
A package of replacement needles for new style tissue cell chambers.
Modification allows usage of a standard 60 mm petri dish instead of the chopping disc. Unit comes with two sample blades.
Temperature controlled cooling baths for the 7000smz-2, 5000mz-2, 5100-Plus and 5100mz vibrotomes with a controllable temperature range of approx +10ºC to 0ºC with accuracy of ± 1 ºC. For experiments where exact control of a low slicing temperature is required.
The McIlwain Tissue Chopper was designed to prepare samples of tissue for metabolic experiments and is particularly suitable for small and irregular samples for biopsy or from small organs. The unit comes with two sample blades and chopping discs.
Blades for use with Campden Vibroslices sold before March 2003.
