What is the Backplane?

Monkey CANTAB Intellistations are recognized as a benchmark in primate cognitive assessment. In response to technological advances and evolving user needs, Lafayette has redesigned the Intellistation, creating a more compact model with enhanced features and streamlined controls.

This smaller/lighter form factor supports mounting in home cages or other testing enclosures. With all electronics enclosed and mounted on the back of the unit, the subject is presented with a clean front display with no hardware distractions.

How does it work?

Each station uses an onboard microcomputer to control the unit. All user interaction is made via a networked control computer running ABET Cognition software. Users no longer need to remote-in or use a dedicated keyboard/mouse to manipulate individual units like previous CANTAB systems.

The same easy-to-use interface remains, but with expanded feature sets to provide open access for labs to write their own paradigms, upload custom stimuli (images, videos, or audio files), and create analysis workflow.
