Luminometers from Actimetrics are designed for high-throughput (32 or 96 samples) analysis of self-luminous tissues and cells modified to have the luciferase gene (ex. PER-LUC) as well as intact behaving transgenic animals infused with luciferin analogs to study circadian biology. The LumiCycles are placed inside a standard incubator and are equipped with photon-counting photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), each selected for low dark counts and high sensitivity in the green portion of the spectrum. In concert with LumiCycle software, these systems offer real-time data analysis, data export for statistical processing, and advanced features for effective assessment of circadian rhythm such as activity recording, monitoring light, temperature and humidity within the chamber.
